I've never been particularly clued up when it comes to music, it's more a case of if I happen to hear something I like, I usually end up buying the album.  The end result is a music collection that is more eclectic than the spirit collection on top of my fridge - though far less potent! The latest addition to the collection is a bit of a departure to the more upbeat tones of Train 's Hey, Soul Sister or V V Brown 's Shark in the Water .  After hearing just a clip of Islands, I've ended up with The xx being played to death on the way to and from work: Okay it's a bit on the dark side , but this one has managed to get into my head and won't shift, like an itch that can't be scratched ... which is fine at the moment, but if I start wearing black clothes, looking moody and dying my hair black , someone come and slap some common sense into me!  

Admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of cats, mostly due to the fact that they cause my immune system to get into a bit of a tizz: I once had conjunctivitis so bad I thought I was going to lose my eye ... it was like poking an over-ripe tomato that couldn't hold it's shape.  Horrifying. What with the manky eye, asthmatic-breathing, red splotches everywhere and a nose that was running faster than the bathroom tap, I wouldn't have looked out of place in some kind of horror movie.  Who needs new strains of virus when a cat can do the job?! But despite my body's need to freak out at the mere sight of a cat, I can't help going 'Awwww' when I see something like this: Awwwwww, bless! It's a shame they grow up, isn't it?!  But then, if they didn't, you wouldn't get excellent vids like this one: Still not a fan of cats?  Then perhaps musical hamsters are more your style... :-)

...well, of 2007, at least! Yes, another year is under our belts like unwanted weight from too much Christmas indulgence ... and now its party time all over again! For those of you that can't get out to party, here's a few things to keep you amused for the night, assuming you only started reading this about ten minutes to midnight!!!
