Summer Holiday Shenanigans

With the bank holiday weekend about to start, think about The Centralian Players working hard to build their next set for Peter Gordon's play, Third Week in August , while you sun yourself on the beach, enjoy your BBQ and refuse to let the Great British Rain Off stop you enjoying the break.

Oops...

Today, I made a bit of a faux pas. Earlier in the week, it was my friend Abi's birthday and today she was having a BBQ to celebrate. Because I am so far behind with my studying, I figured on doing as much of this as possible and heading over there early evening, on the basis that if I went to the BBQ first I would spend the rest of the day there and get absolutely no studying done. What I didn't count on was everything wrapping up early. All the BBQs I have been to in the past have gone on well into the evening so I made the assumption that the same would happen here and that things would probably be a little more chilled by then. 7pm was my target time for leaving work*, but I didn't get as much done as I had hoped, so I stayed a bit longer. By 8pm, everyone had apparently gone home and they were in the process of clearing up. Some friend I turned out to be. Sorry, Abi. * Its easier to study at work as I have proper desk space there ... otherwise, I end up falling asleep...

Off in La-La Land

Cor blimey guv'nor, 'as it been that long since last we spoke?!?! I guess I've been a bit out of it lately, disappearing off on one of my lows. Or as my old friend Michelle would say, off having my monthlies: all the mood swings only without the gore. Unfortunately, I've been pretty quick to anger these past couple of weeks, and have snapped at my family, my colleagues and my boss, though there is still a part of me that thinks one or two of them deserved it! As I went to see the docs about my asthma which has been playing up for the first time in about five years (so I am now back on the ventolin *sigh*), I figured I should ask about my mood problems. He felt that it wasn't family that was the problem, but work (won't argue with that), and said I need to take some time out ... what a stroke of luck, as I'm off to Sri Lanka next week for my cousin's wedding! Though if I don't come back in a better mood, I need to go back and see him... So, I guess a...
