For at least a week now, I have been intending to write a post about all the crappy goings on but have been having trouble finding the words - not normally a problem, going by the length of some of my posts! However, I shall skip over the specifics of the car insurance people who screwed up my payment and the customer who put not only stuck the knife in but also twisted it for good measure*, and sum it all up with this: Idiots, the lot of 'em!! I would call them muppets but that would be a disservice to Muppets. Whilst I still have to deal with all that crap, I can now do so with a grin - which might make me look a little insane but if it helps, so be it. On Monday, I went to the Castle Combe race circuit with my cousin and took around 166 photos - not the most I've ever taken there, to be honest. Out of that little bundle, there were around half-a-dozen that I felt I could work with, one of which was of the gorgeous Morgan Aero . Unfortunately, the image itself was a little l...

Police Pics

Last night, I finally got around to getting some of Sunday's pics posted to Flickr . Unfortunately, there is nothing really there that I can add to a portfolio but there are a couple of reasonable ones that I thought I'd post here for you to have a butchers at ... its gotta be better than taking your time up with another epic account! At the end of the first display, the mounted police lined up and made sure their rides shared the applause. Rottweilers are gorgeous dogs, but you don't want to be chased by this one! These dogs love their job... ...as you can see by the fact that they launch themselves at their targets! In the Horse and Hound show, four teams consisting of one horse and one hound competed for the fastest time on the circuit. I believe that the guys at Bower Ashton have this open day every two years, so keep your ears open for this in 2010 ... if you remember!

Experiment Time

As many of you will know, I've been getting pretty agitated with work for a while now and, as such, I have started to look into other employment options. One of those options, is to follow in another's footsteps and become an Assistant Photographer . Okay, so I don't have the HND or appropriate education but should that stop me from trying? For as many people that tell me its a bad idea, I can point out as many people that would tell me its a great idea. I guess only I can really answer that one. Well, as I don't have the training, I made a start on Friday to see if I could build up a portfolio of pictures ... and I don't think I've made a particularly great start! Well, we all have to start somewhere. To kick the evening off, I decided to take some pics with my new running mascot, Squeaker, in order to create my own header for my Great North Run training blog, Sneaker Squeaker . The little mite was into everything and especially enjoyed playing with my lens ...

Karma Car-meleon

They say that what goes around comes around and that whatever wrong you do to others will be returned back to you three times over. I have to confess that I am something of a believer in this ... which kind of helps when I'm fuming over someone who I feel has wronged me in some way. I think this morning was an example of this in action ... only in reverse! I live in a block of flats that, fortunately*, has its own car park. The trouble is that the road it joins has so many cars parked on it that its hard to see any oncoming traffic, especially with the white vans that park close to the entrance: exiting in the morning becomes something of an accident lottery, and I've come close to hitting jackpot on a number of occassions. This morning, that jackpot nearly included a police car cruising down the road! Luckily, where I had been edging out to see past the vans, he had already seen me and started to slow down. Doesn't stop you wondering if you're about to get pulled ov...

How much have you had?

Well, as of 6pm tonight, I am officially the only one in the office for the next fortnight! With three people leaving in July and August, one off on a three-month sabbatical across the US with his other half, and another off on a two week break, we're now back down to the staffing levels we had about 8 months ago. It wouldn't be so bad, but half the work that needs to be done I know nothing about, so it looks like I'll be kept on my toes for a while. Aaaanyhoo, I am aware that my last post was not only lengthy, but a bit whingy, so its probably best that I stay off the work topic tonight and try to avoid the step-by-step accounts that make for good sleeping material! Last night, I was introduced to my new favourite series: Weeds . How great is this series?! I don't have Sky, so I have to make do with Sky Three on digital terrestrial and happened to stumble on it last night. I had never really paid any attention to the adverts for it before, but I caught the announcer ...
